Water in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

In 2015, the United Nations adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) covering the period from 2015-2030, thus establishing the first universal vision of the Stainable Development Agenda. Water features in the 17 priorities identified, through Goal 6 specifically dedicated to water, and 18 progress targets. The French Water Partnership conducts several activities on the issue.

OUR WATER & SDG ADVOCACY

The water and climate FWP’s recommendations are co-built by its working group around 3 main priorities:

  1. Recognizing the crucial role played by water in reaching all SDGs
  2. Establishing international water governance: towards the creation of intergovernmental United Nations bodies for water
  3. Establishing the means to successfully implement and monitor SDGs
