Fondation Veolia

Created in May 2004, the Veolia Foundation supports non-profit community-oriented projects contributing to outreach, workforce development and environmental conservation, in France and internationally.
Since its creation in 2004, the Foundation has supported over 1,000 projects, half of them outside France, and has conducted more than 150 expertise missions.

The Foundation focuses on three priority areas : Humanitarian emergencies and development aid, Social cohesion and job counselling, Environmental conservation and biodiversity protection.

Project description

Since 2011, the Bangangté Municipality with its technical and financial partners - AIMF, Seine-Normandy Water Agency, Veolia Foundation, SIAAP - implement a program to improve the conditions of access to water and sanitation of the populations of its territory. Beyond the significant investment in rehabilitation and infrastructure development, the objective of MODEAB is to sustainably strengthen the skills of local technical services and create and implement a management model adapted to the context.

Project description

The Congolese Ministry of Public Health (MPH), has set up a Multi Sectoral Plan for Elimination of Cholera (MSPEC), including financial and technical support of the Veolia Foundation. This joint work has formalized an integrated approach Epidemiology - Water, Sanitation and Hygiene, which is now implemented to fight against cholera in Uvira, one of the priority areas identified in the MSPEC.
