More Water For Sahel Initiative

The Project “Addressing Water and Fragility in Sahel”, will be implemented, in cooperation with G5 Sahel countries, by the "More Water for Sahel Initiative”.

The Project aims to mitigate fragility through an increase of water availability for human beings and livestock, to foster change in the development of water resources, and to capitalise on the recent scientific and technological progresses, in order to :


o Re-think and re-articulate the way water resources are identified and explored

o Raise and upgrade the overall knowledge regarding underground water resources, more specifically in arid areas

o Consolidate and optimize the exploration and management capabilities of these water resources
