Water management in urban areas: the Mediterranean experience
Tuesday 21 May 2024, 4:30pm - 5pm
Faced with the growing challenges of urban freshwater management, what can we learn from Mediterranean countries regarding planning, development and urban governance?
4 students* from the master's degree "Governance of Ecological Transitions in European Cities" from Sciences Po Paris took part in a student capstone on water management in an urban context during the 2023-24 school year for the National Federation of Urban planning Agencies (FNAU). They will present on Espace France the restitution report of their work and the conclusions they draw from the comparison of numerous urban planning and water management practices in France, Spain, Italy, Morocco and Tunisia.
As a concrete case study, Anne-Sophie Leclère, Deputy General Director of Eau de Paris, will present the major challenges and the solutions put in place to guarantee access to drinking water in the French capital.
