Our mission
The French Water Partnership is a multi-stakeholder platform in the water field, actively involved in Europe and internationally. In line with its charter, the FWP’s mission is to:
- Provide information on the actions of its members and the European and international community;
- Provide a platform for prospective reflection and the exchange of information, experience and know-how in the field of water;
- Contribute to the inclusion of water in the priorities of the European and international political agendaProvide inputs to French, European and international institutions;
- Develop and promote common messages and share members’ expertise in European and international events, fora and networks;
- Contribute to the progress of strategic objectives in these events, fora and networks, and act as a multi-stakeholder entry point for European and international requests;
- Promote the main principles of water management implemented in France and the expertise and know-how of all its members in the water sector, by strengthening the influence of its stakeholders;
- Monitor the implementation of commitments made by French stakeholders, in particular at the World Water Forums;
- Contribute to raising public awareness on water issues, in particular by promoting media coverage of European and international issues and, more generally, through any communication initiatives likely to raise public awareness on the need to preserve a healthy environment and an adequate quality of life.
Today, the French Water Partnership’s mission is embodied in a three-year action plan (2025-27), based on the following principles:
– ADVOCATE at international and EU levels, and take part in international conferences to ensure that water is taken into account in the implementation of UN decisions;
– EXCHANGE with the international community through close ties with the major networks and key players in the water community, as well as with national and regional water partnerships;
– PROMOTE French expertise in an integrated approach at international events, and through exchanges and collaboration with national and regional partnerships, and position this expertise in water-related funding.
